From Perth Now 2pm today:
The Royals have also appointed Mark Winnett as its new football manager, replacing Jason Thomas who was let go last week. Winnett has been development manager at East Fremantle in recent years, where he also played 33 games between 1998-2002, and was in line for the Sharks football manager role until Damien Gaspar informed the club he was interested after fulfilling the same job at Perth for the past three seasons. Winnett will begin in the role on Wednesday and now that the Royals off-field staff is sorted, and certainly looking impressive, all their attention will turn to the playing list now to help improve from a last-place finish in 2008.

I may sound like a peacemaker ( which is not all that odd because a peacemaker was also a kind of Colt pistol in the American West), but if Colin goes to games so be it. It may colour the weight I or anyone else gives to that opinion but it is out there. Having said that being at the game changes one's view of things entirely. For the life of me, and I've tried to forget it, my abiding memory of GB is being at SFFC when we were in the lead at half time and watching us have 11 goals kicked against us in the third quarter. Reading the box score of that game cannot ever come close to watching that montrosity and thinking never again.....
