With the links you've posted Freddo, who is it opening the can of worms? image

epfc, you and I (and Dean) agree there is a significant difference between the 2000 team and what we have presently, and in normal circumstances I'd have no doubt that Micale would cull a number of the current playing group and replace them with players he thinks have genuine quality - but, and its a huge but - the 130 points limit places him under pressure to retain those who, while they may not have the quality required for the team to go to the top, are worth just 1 or a few points. The Club simply can't use the broom too vigorously. So where maybe 5 or 6 players might have been shown the door under normal conditions, the new 130 point rule will insure that many of these guys will be retained - out of necessity.

The good news is that we are likely to get 2, possibly 3 AFL draftees and I'm sure Micale has a few quality recruits in mind. And hopefully the young'ns whom Bewick blooded and the better Colts will also put their hand up for selection.
