If true, I feel sorry for young Jason.

There is a maxim in the Public Service that people get promoted to their position of maximum inefficiency. That is, they do well in various jobs so keep getting promoted to a job they do less well in. As noel has stated, Jason was probably not ready for the job but had done well at his previous job (and I seem to recall no one else applied!) so he was promoted. I hope the young fella doesn't take it too badly. He is a good bloke with skills in other areas.

Having said all that, we do need a sharper edge to our recruiting to build a decent squad. Some of you believe we have a squad capable of taking us into the 4 so will not be as excited as me with this possible new addition to our staff.
