Prior to the Perth game I compared Subi and EPFC as follows:

"East Perth over the last 4 games have kicked 33 goals with 12 different goalscorers. Our major goalscorers have been Merro with 11 and Noakes 8 ( both players the only ones to score in each of the last four games) and Wulff 3. The rest got 1 or 2 goals only and only Wulff scored in 2 of the other 4 games, the rest scoring in 1 game only.

Subiaco over the last 4 games have kicked 89 goals with only 16 different goalscorers. Their major goalscorers have been Smith with 24, Broadhurst 13,Dennis Lane 12 and Maplestone 9( these players the only ones to score in each of the last four games) and 4 other players have scored between 3-5 goals. The rest got 1 or 2 goals only and of the other players for Subi only 5 other players have scored in 2 or 3 of the other 4 games, the rest scoring in 1 game only"

Since those games we have had two wins but the numbers wouldn't have changed a great deal. Merro has added 7 more, Wolff and Noakes a few and McKinley straightened us up.

SFFC can be beaten. A lot depends on Murphy. If he stays with the Dockers, SFFC will be at a disadvantage. If he comes back to SFFC it will trouble us.

Our defence is getting better and the 50s are falling way as are the 3 goals in 5 minute streaks which bedevilled the early season games.

Only the forward line remains under question.

I'll be controversial though. Noakes is a great mark but is a sh*t kick. What use is a sh*t load of marks if you can't kick.

He is in that sense a week link because an opposition pocket or flanker need only hold off the marking duel and then pick up the spilt mark knowing if Noakes gets the mark he can't kick straight. That's why I like Sampey up forward.
