Work is progressing on the development of the ground and the scene is changing day by day. A new public address system has been installed. The old toilet block on the eastern side of the ground is to be demolished and a new toilet block built in its place.

Work started today on the annual turf update of the surface of the oval. It will be three or four weeks before either club will train at the ground.

Today we had the opportunity of viewing a demonstration of the electronic scoreboard that will be installed before the start of the 2008 season. The board will be large and will be sited in the North East corner of the oval so that it is not facing into the sun. A new turnstile similar to the one at Vincent Street will be installed in an area close to the electronic scoreboard. The scoreboard will be computer controlled from the grandstand.

I am certain that when the ground is completed it will be after a long wait A Centre of Excellence and the envy of other clubs.
