I started the Copping comparison, so I'll say one more thing and then leave it be. Any AFL club that drafts a player on a 5 year plan is taking a huge (and unnecessary) gamble. It means, in fact, that they don't think he'll be ready for AFL footy for 5 years. That means he'll languish in a lower League for at least 4 years, before he might be ready.  And, worse still, he'll be expected to do this languishing, away from home.

It was a poor decision.

But how about the comparison I'm making between Roberton and Stratton ?

Anyone else care to comment on that ?

Seems pretty important to me, for if the young guy can settle in, and perform somewhere near as well as Stratton, then its a positive for us.
