This was a hard game on so many levels ( thanks to the ex EPFC reserves player McPhee we still have a chance- that's Dimmer and McPhee both ex EPFC who have helped us now). The boys just looked so tired, still they kept to within 3 goals so performed magnificently. The more I look at this game, the more I think the boys did very well. That said, a quote came to my attention today:"So little separates success from failure:so vast, howsover are the repercussions." The loss however creditable puts us in a position where we have to rely on Subi. It would be great if Worsfold had a heart of stone and kept Fletcher in the WAFL. Our forward line still needs a little bit of work. The ladder put up by Peter shows that we are on a par defensively with the other top 4 teams ( and the game against Subi did little to damage that reputation) but our forward line is 2-300 points behind the other top sides, especially noting that the other top 3 sides have a game in hand. What we have seen is how hard it is to play streak pressure football. The boys in the 1978 team must have been as a hard as diamonds. This side though has the makings of a similarly good side. The dream remains alive.
