What was clearly evident in the game against Sooby, was that here was a clear difference in class between the 2 teams - particularly in the air where the Subi defenders and their forwards completely dominated. Whatever happens over the next week or two, the Club has to work hard to recruit a power key forward (a la Chad Jones). We were also outclassed in the quality of disposal - too many of our kicks inside 50, for example, were flour bags and helicopters.

If we do make the finals, it will now be by default - i.e. by WP losing, and it will be the lowest win loss ratio I can remember for a team to make the 4. Just 10 wins. The usual win loss ratio is 11 or 12.

I thought at the start of the season we'd win 8 games. The 2 more wins than that can be put down to the 2 great wins against Sooby. Full marks to Micale . . but we can see why he tried all he could to entice Jones to the Club. Even in pre-season he knew we lacked a real power forward. Just such a player will need to be a Number 1 priority for 2010.
